The Circle of Red is crucial in driving local support to fund life saving research and to educate women.  Though we have made great strides in the advancement of women’s cardiovascular health, we still have far to go.  We need your help now so that our mothers, sisters, and daughters have a chance to fight this silent killer.  By sharing a commitment to speak up, spread the word and support the research, you can help save lives.

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s solution to save women’s lives.  Too many women die each year because they are unaware that heart disease is their No. 1 killer.  One in three women suffers in silence – many not even realizing they are at risk, and almost one woman dies every minute of this largely preventable disease!  Go Red For Women believes that bringing women together empowers them to bring a voice to this silent killer to help save lives.

The Circle of Red is a very special group of women who support the Go Red For Women cause through their contributions of significant resources and influence in the support of the cause.  The Circle of Red is like a grassroots sisterhood, made up of amazing women who advocate for women’s health and are determined to save lives.

Please join me in the fundraising effort for this organization because today, we're learning more and more about the way our health needs change over time. While some things never change, like the need for a healthy diet, regular exercise and a positive attitude, other aspects of your health are simply due to your stage of life.

Age, however, can be deceiving. In Inspiring Stories you'll find the stories of several women who experienced heart-related incidents at age 35 and younger!

With that in mind, make it your goal to know your cholesterol and triglyceride numbers as well as you know your 401(K) balance and shoe size. Instead of counting wrinkles (not that you have any!) keep an eye on your calorie count - and eat from each of the six food groups as recommended by the USDA and the American Heart Association.

Above all, remember: Your body and current state of health are as unique as you are. That's why it's so important for women to find realistic heart health goals with the help of their doctors, and to be aware of the lifestyle choices that can decrease the risk of heart disease.

Anything you can donate will help! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
